Code of Conduct

Participants of Windsor Essex Dodgeball are expected to behave with civility and appropriate conduct. When you register with Windsor Essex Dodgeball, you agree to abide by the Code of Conduct as outlined in this document. All members are encouraged to exercise good judgement in caring for the safety of others as well as themselves. In the event you witness or experience threatening or inappropriate behaviour by another individual, please report the situation immediately to a Windsor Essex Dodgeball representative. Standards of Conduct include but are not limited to the examples outlined below.

Aggressive Behaviour. You may not promote or engage in physical abuse, verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, harassment, coercion and/or other conduct, which threatens or endangers the health and/or safety of any person. You may not use “fighting words” to harass any organizer, board member, volunteer, or participant. If you engage in behaviour that is considered aggressive, then your actions may result in a suspension (of varying length or league type) or permanent expulsion.

In registering as a member of Windsor Essex Dodgeball and within the context of the activities of Windsor Essex Dodgeball, an individual agrees to take part in a spirit of fair play, honesty, and within the rules and regulations of Windsor Essex Dodgeball. 

  • Have read the rules and agree to complete/participate within the rules of Windsor Essex Dodgeball.
  • All players must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
  • All spectators must be 18 years or older.
  • Adhere to no-smoking/vaping policies. When events occur on school property, there is no smoking on any school grounds, including parking lots.
  • Play within the spirit of the leagues and tournaments, which is to have fun and be social in a competitive sport environment.
  • Compete/participate in a spirit of fair play and honesty.
  • Control your temper. Verbal and/or physical abuse of officials and other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any activities.
  • Respect an individual’s dignity, using insulting, harassing or otherwise offensive language in the context of the activities are unacceptable as are verbal or physical behaviours that constitute harassment.
  • Agree to cooperate with teammates and opponents.
  • Address fellow players, officials, volunteer, event organizers, spectators and other associated with Windsor Essex Dodgeball in a courteous and respectful manner, at all times.
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit.
  • Treat all participants as you wish to be treated.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants. This includes, but is not limited to, their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Put the good of the game and your fellow participants safety and enjoyment above the desire to win at all costs.
  • Act in a manner that will bring credit, glory and valour to Windsor Essex Dodgeball and yourself, both within and outside the areas of competition.
  • Anyone participating in Windsor Essex Dodgeball with complaints about the conduct of fellow players, officials, volunteers, event organizers, spectators and other associated with Windsor Essex Dodgeball, will take up said complaints with a Windsor Essex Dodgeball referee. The referee will then, bring the matter to Windsor Essex Dodgeball board members, which will then be handled in a prompt manner with a final decision/resolution shared privately with all parties involved. Alternatively, participants can bring such complaints directly to a Windsor Essex Dodgeball board member if they feel inclined to do so. 
  • Windsor Essex Dodgeball board members and event coordinators are responsible for managing and maintaining the safety of our members and facilities. You agree to comply with the directions of Windsor Essex Dodgeball staff, acting in the performance of their duties. Failure to comply with staff requests, directions, or instructions, will result in loss of privileges. Anyone that fails to adhere to the Code of Conduct, is subject to penalties that include but are not limited to suspension of any length, complete expulsion for an indefinite amount of time, and exclusion from other Windsor Essex Dodgeball events.
  • Participants or members of Windsor Essex Dodgeball will, on occasion, take photos and/ or video of activities and individuals for the purpose of use in social media and marketing. You herewith give consent for Windsor Essex Dodgeball to use any images or video that may be taken of yourself for these purposes. 
  • No refunds will be given when memberships or enrollments are in place.
